Learning Together

Study & Dialogue

Guided reading, honest conversation, and inquiry across all boundaries.
OpenSky has no holy book β€” only open minds.

How We Study

Three Formats for Every Seeker

Study in OpenSky is not memorisation or reverence. It is inquiry β€” honest, rigorous, and open to being wrong. Choose the format that suits you.

πŸ“š
Reading Circles

Small groups read the OpenSky Manifesto, Code, and selected philosophical, scientific, or literary texts. One reading per month. One honest conversation about it.

πŸŽ™οΈ
Dialogue Sessions

Structured conversations on a chosen topic β€” no debate, no winner. Two people hold opposing views and explore each other's perspective with genuine curiosity.

🌐
Online Study Groups

Weekly sessions via video call, open to all members worldwide. Readings are shared in advance. Sessions are recorded and available for those who can't attend live.

Our Curriculum

What We Read & Explore

OpenSky has no scripture. Instead, we draw from the widest possible range of human thought β€” philosophy, science, poetry, and lived experience.

I
The OpenSky Manifesto & Code

Our own foundational text β€” read slowly, questioned deeply, and revised through community dialogue as understanding grows.

II
Philosophy of Mind & Awareness

From the Upanishads to Descartes to contemporary neuroscience β€” what is consciousness, and what does it mean to observe your own thoughts?

III
Ethics Without God

Secular philosophy, Buddhist ethics, Stoicism, and Humanism β€” how have humans built moral frameworks without divine authority?

IV
Caste, Identity & Freedom

Ambedkar, Periyar, MLK, Simone de Beauvoir β€” thinkers who dismantled labels and fought for the equal worth of every human being.

V
Science & the Nature of Reality

Cosmology, evolution, quantum mechanics, climate β€” the story the universe tells about itself, and our place within it.

VI
Stories Across Boundaries

Literature and poetry from every tradition, language, and culture β€” the human experience told in as many voices as possible.

✦
The OpenSky Way of Dialogue

Seven Rules for Honest Conversation

Dialogue in OpenSky is not debate. It is the practice of understanding β€” even, especially, when we disagree.

01
Listen to understand, not to reply. Hold your response until the other person has truly finished.
02
No idea is above question β€” not the Code, not the Manifesto, not anything said by anyone in the group.
03
Challenge the idea, never the person. Curiosity is the only weapon permitted in this room.
04
Say "I don't know" freely. Uncertainty is honesty. Pretending to know what you don't is the only dishonesty we refuse.
05
Every background and experience is valid data. The person who has lived something knows something the book cannot teach.
06
No conversion. We are not here to change each other's minds β€” only to understand them more fully.
07
End every session by naming one thing you learned or one assumption you questioned. Growth is the only goal.
